CGMA Classes

What is your background as an artist? What educational experience/background did you have coming into CGMA? Do you have professional experience?

I have painted since I was 5 years old. My mother used to put me in a lot of classes in my school years. When I entered college, I started with basics in Ecuador focused on digital art. That was for a year, then I left for Buenos Aires to study creative advertisement, comic design and fine arts. I did not get the degree but it was almost complete. I had to return because I was out of money and then I started working as a freelance for 7 years. I have my own studio with a friend who makes graphic design and I am focused on the illustration part. I work on my own also doing advertisement illustration, storyboard, character design, and graffiti.

Why did you decide to take CGMA classes?

I wanted to reach a higher level in my craftsmanship and I want to enter the entertainment industry as a concept artist.

What classes did you take and why did you choose them?

I want to do all of them. Started with the first four; Intro to Perspective, Dynamic Sketching 1 & 2, and Analytical Figure Drawing.

How did taking classes help you refine your craft and help you along your artistic journey?

It has been awesome! My work is already at another level just with four classes. I am really looking forward to finish them all.

What did you expect from the class?

I really did not expect anything. They have dazzled me.

What was your first big gig and how did you get it?

No big gigs yet but, everything has been really smooth so far.

Why would you recommend CGMA to another artist?

Because the teachers here are really the masters of this art.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Just that you are great. It has been a great chance for me to become a better artist.
